Having failed to defeat the intruders
on her own, Stella combines her physical force with her sister's magical propensity
for a hellish tag match. While Stella will occasionally attack with a far-reaching
sword swipe, she'll mostly assist her sister in the execution of ice spells.
In the most frequent instance, Loretta will create in Stella's hands a giant
ice sword, which together they'll crash onto the heroes, in devastating fashion.
There's much more: Loretta can create a large ice crystal and attempt to crowd
the heroes for repeated blows, and Stella will at spell's conclusion shatter
the crystal and send flying deadly shards; Loretta can cause ice shards to
rain down from a seal for a long period; Loretta can conjure from said seal
four icy wolf heads and command them to fly forward; or, finally, Loretta
can keep the heroes at bay by unleashing from the seal a blizzard storm.

This mythological creature, a seductress
who feasts on human emotions, invades men's dreams, telling them lies and
convoluting their minds. One would assume, from this, that her goal is to
take over men's souls, but it's actually the torture of the prey that better
suits her needs. Most famously, she was temporarily able to fool Alucard by
taking the shape of his mother, a highly sympathetic figure, and trying to
seduce him to the side of evil, "where he belongs." She's tried
similar stunts against other heroes who were able to resist. The veil fallen,
she'd take to battle in a most deadly way. The Succubus is best known for
using its wings to cut people to pieces, its fangs to
suck away life-force, and its power of illusion to confuse the enemy.

Early in the game, Talos was the enormous
foe that tried to prevent you from entering the castle. It finally shows up
again in the underground areas to finish the job it started. Its size isn't
a problem since its weak spot, its damaged left ankle, is already accessible.
Talos will try to protect the open wound and fend you off with two separate
attacks: It'll strike with a one-two combination, a high punch followed by
a low one. Or it'll kneel down and strike with a fierce backhand chop. At
any time, it'll replace its hand with a sword and use a more powerful slashing
attack instead. Like all foes its size, you'll want to avoid letting Talos
back you into a corner; by repeatedly striking his weak spot, you can knock
him back and thus prevent this.

These creepy creatures roam around the crevices and
potholes of castles, monitoring foes, waiting for the perfect time to strike.
When they do strike, it's in large numbers. They can jump really high, and
they can crouch under your whip attacks. You'll have to have eyes in the back
of your head to see where the next one will pop up. On the downside (for them),
they're incredibly weak.

The possession of Camilla, a long-dead
countess, this female vampire's mask's main battle scar, a missing eye, now
serves as its means for attack; deadly to anything it touches, the blood that
flows through its very being can put any soul to rest. Vampira likes to circle
the room, stopping randomly to drip said blood from its eye socket; when the
blood hits the ground, it'll break into three small fireballs that'll spring
upward and travel in your direction.

The Wallman is an odd-looking and highly
bizarre castle habitant who at first seems invincible. The portly adversary,
best described as Penguin-meets-Bomberman, is by all precedents a proponent
of the hit-and-run style of offense. The Wallman tosses out into random locations
three specially created bombs--four-sided devices that upon exploding expel
rays of fire in all directions and leave little in the way of shelter for
the hero whose only refuge are those tiny openings where the rays fail to
intersect. While the hero calculates the points of safety, the Wallman will
cast the Paries Glyph, which when fully absorbed will allow him to hide within
the walls and avoid the blasts. Any attempt to ambush the Wallman will be
nullified when he whips out one from his endless supply of super potions and
fully restores his health (though it won't make a difference, he'll occasionally
drop a super potion for your convenience). The Wallman will prove to be anything
but invincible when it's discovered that he can be killed instantly
by absorbing his Glyph--if the hero can do so without getting caught
in a blast.

As Castlevania: Dracula X's
version of Shaft, it's not physically powerful at all. Instead, the Warlock
uses its magic to create hordes of lesser enemies to distract you while it
attacks with fire. When damaged, it'll regain all of its energy and start
disappearing and reappearing, and it'll surround itself with a shield of demon
tombstones. As more lesser enemies are being summoned--mostly skeletons--it'll
begin launching the tombstones in your direction. Underestimating its first
form is always a mistake, as you'll need all of you energy when he changes.

It's exactly that--a master at using
water spells. Its method of attack if simple enough: It'll command an energy
sphere to flood the area with endless streams of water. The flooding will
stop temporarily when you strike the magician--until he gathers himself and
reappears elsewhere. If it senses your proximity or makes contact with you,
it'll disappear quickly and change location. Time is of the essence, as letting
it live too long will be your drowning downfall.

Half man, half wolf, this creature
(also known as "Lypuston") is as fierce and deadly as it is
quick, and it will no doubt be waiting for its hunter under the veil of a
full moon's light. Avoiding a werewolf's vicious attacks are one thing, killing
it is another. (In mythology and horror-movie lore, only an object
of pure silver can kill a werewolf or wolfman.) Werewolves related to this
game series use their speed and abnormal strength to overwhelm with a combination
of quick strikes and unexpected spurts of power, using which they can pummel
heroes with a variety of objects. For more on this particular enemy, please

This is definitely a family member of the dragon--some
say a wyvern is a more evolved dragon or a distant relative of the dragon
(see Shadowgate). That might explain why this particular specimen is
not as powerful as you'd suspect a dragon would be. It can, of course, breathe
fire; as it spews flames, each separate blast will hit the ground and bounce
either left and right. The flames are threatening, yes, but the wyvern's lunging
claw attack make its game-plan predictable. Later on, Shaft will summon its
skeletal remains to assist in his ghostly battle.

This is a bat made up entirely of gold
pieces and rare jewels. When struck, it sheds some of its coins, each dangerous
to touch as they fall to the ground. When damaged enough, it'll break into
three smaller bats, all of which also shed coins when struck; these smaller
bats drop single coins straight downward, too, on top of that, so there's
no angle for protection--it'll mostly be a hit-and-run affair. Your best bet
for success is to group the smaller bats into the same area, preferably low,
and strike them all at once, which'll drain this foe's energy meter faster.

Zephyr is a demon with mastery over
time. The long-clawed nightmare is quick and nimble, and it can indeed stop
time at any point. Its most basic attack is to chuck daggers, but it will
hardly rely on this. Rather, it will use its claws for either close-range
or long-sweep dashing swipes, both of which will send the hero flying far
back; it will often stop time before doing this. Otherwise, it will jump into
the air, gather itself, and then swiftly dive in the hero's direction--it
will during this attack drop down a dagger to ensure a reaction; if this dive
attack carries it into a wall, Zephyr will rebound off of it with an unexpected
missile dive.
