Passwords

Castlevania: Bloodlines has three possible difficulty levels for the two selectable characters, John Morris and Eric Lecarde. The passwords below can be used for this six-stage game on the normal and expert modes, divided by a brickset. The expert level can be unlocked after completing the game on the normal level. The symbols used in each table are axes, morning star symbols and blue gems.

The
Codes
|
Workless Expert Code: Negating what I said above, the Expert Mode can be accessed without completing the Normal Mode. To skip right to it, enter the following code (the familiar Konami Code) on the title screen: Up, up, down, down, left, right, left, right, B then A. If you hear a selection sound, it was entered correctly.
Classic CV Tunes: Bloodlines wasn't heavy on familiar Castlevania music, save for the recycled Dracula theme and a Super Castlevania 4 tune. If you've gone into the Option Mode, however, you've probably heard three familiar songs via the sound test that you'll otherwise never hear during the course of the game. To change this, go into the Option Mode and listen to Background Music (BG) 5 and Sound Effect (SE) 73. Return to the title screen and begin a new game. When you collect a special morning star symbol--those that afford the whip flame power--one of those three familiar songs will play during its power's duration.

Other Tips
Camouflaged Essence: Since 16-bit games were made during the era of background and foreground layering, Konami sometimes used the latter to hide the most lucrative item-holding candles. By unleashing whip snaps or lance pokes in some areas (behind the small overpasses on Eric's exclusive path on stage 5 - 4, for instance), you may whip a candelabra that'll release a big heart, a high-priced money bag, health replenishment, or an important 1-Up symbol. Twice Scorned: There's nary a minor enemy in Bloodlines that doesn't require two-four whip strokes or spear stabs to take down. You can speed up the process of destruction in one simple way: After executing a whip or spear attack, hold down the button until the attack's completion; in this instance, the attack will record two hits. Therein, you'll find that a four-shots-required death could be reduced to two simple slashes on your part.
(Satis)factory Rewards: After passing through the entrance and entering the very first room of Stage 4's munitions factory, head to the room's top-right corner, where you'll find the area's only visible ceiling. Use the leftmost edge of this ceiling to swing over a gap, a conveyor belt beneath, and arrive on a nearby floating platform. Make two more platform jumps to come to the room's top-left corner, whose low wall you can hop over to find four hidden candelabra-held treasures. (Contributed by Amar Youkai.)

Duke of Hazards: There are instances in Bloodlines where you can use the surrounding environment to deal damage to its inhabitants. Here are three such instances (all contributed by Danny):
