Limitations
Leon is quicker and more agile than the last bunch of 3D heroes. He can maneuver around foes very well both on the ground and while in the air. Since he has a double jump ability right from the get-go, this will be all the more prevalent; he'll be able to access a large portion of the castle without having to gain other special abilities. Offensively, Leon has two types of whip slashes: Weak and strong. Using them in conjunction, he can string together combo attacks. He can also use the whip to latch onto poles and gates to reach greater heights. By using his gauntlet, he can guard against attacks and absorb them, harness them to use as magic power. As he battles foes, he'll learn new, more effective whip moves/combos, air assaults, and better defensive abilities like the guard dodge. Leon will also grow in power as he finds life-, heart- and magic-up symbols; as he equips better armor and accessories; and as he finds relics that afford him magic-consuming abilities. Limitations
Joachim is boss turned anti-hero for his own personal mission. Even though he prefers floating to running, he's almost as quick as Leon. However, Joachim is a much better jumper vertically and horizontally with both his regular and double-jumps--mostly to compensate for jumps that regularly would have required whip assistance. Additionally, he can gain speed and even more jumping distance by using his dash ability. Joachim is surrounded at all times by five swords, which he can arrange for two separate psychic attacks: Sword Chuck, in which he throws them one after another at a fairly long distance, and Circle Slash, a weaker but quicker attack that allows him to swipe each sword one after another. Both attacks can be charged up for an initial burst, and both arrangements have their own associated spell, which uses up magic power; he can build up his MP meter simply by dishing out damage. Joachim has no true defensive abilities other than the dash. And since he's weak to start and can't collect hearts, items, armor, relics, orbs or sub-weapons, he'll have to become stronger by collecting life- and magic-ups plus his exclusive defense- and attack-ups. In exchange, he has more accessibility in terms of not needing keys or sequence-initiating collectibles.

Limitations
This secret character is basically a pumpkin-headed midget version of Leon. The strange little fellow isn't as quick as the Belmont due to its weird jittery movements, but it can jump a bit higher and has better ledge control. Where it has Leon beat most is in the power category: This boy can do maximum damage right from the outset; additionally, it also begins with all of the whip-combo and defensive abilities and plenty of hearts. However, its health and magic meters are at their lowest levels and need to be increased by collecting life- and magic-ups. It will also have to collect items and armor (or buy them from Rinaldo) plus find relics, just like Leon, if it hopes to reach its maximum potential. Finally, it comes with its own special sub-weapon--a bouncing pumpkin that can just as quickly eliminate enemy clusters; while he can't collect the regular Belmont sub-weapons, he can use the orbs to power the pumpkin for seven different assaults.
