Simon and his new bride, Serena, exit the church, happily discussing plans for their future. As they get further away, a dark cloud begins to loom overhead.
All of a sudden, lightning strikes the bell tower of the church, surprising the couple. The lightning signaled the return of Count Dracula, and he has his target in sight.
Swooping down, he grabs a hold of Simon's bride right from underneath him. Having kidnapped Simon's bride, he taunts the Belmont, inviting him to give chase. Simon grabs his whip and starts the journey to rescue his wife.
