Portrait
of Ruin Arsenal ![]()
Though Castlevania: Portrait of Ruin abandons Dawn of Sorrow's Soul Sythnthesis system, it's no less packed in terms of the size of its arsenal. Consider that you now have two simultaneously controlled heroes, each with eight of its own category of equippable, and things start to add up. Jonathan Morris and Charlotte Aulin will meet increasingly tougher challenges by attaining accessibility increasing relics, by collecting and equipping weapons and armor, and by stacking all sorts of status-altering items; all such inventory will be listed on the following three pages. Listed in following are Jonathan's potentially "Mastered" skills and Wind's Quests, which they'll want to accept if they hope to earn some of the more useful goods.
Relics
The procuring of relics will grant the heroes special abilities that help them to pull off tag-team maneuvers and gain further castle accessibility. In reality, relics are split between those that allow for team-based activity and those that offer individual special moves like the expected double jump; while it's possible for one relic to supplant another (read: render it obsolete), the time elapsed between the attaining of the original and the later collection of the one superior is what separates them. Listed below is the relic, a description of such, and its location.

Items
The duo has available multiple options for maintaining its statistics and solving the castle's many mysteries. Littered throughout the castle are the items that the pair can find simply by searching certain rooms; however, the edible assortment present within the halls may not be plentiful enough for the average gamer, so there will scenarios where the player will have to round up large sums of currency and instead buy the endlessly available stock being hoarded by Vincent, the entrepreneurial clergyman; some others can only be found in the City of Haze's secret bakery. In the end, though, due to monetary restraints, the best way to find health items is to destroy the monsters that hold them. Below you'll find the name of an item, an image, a description, its effect on your stats (if not obvious from the description), and the location where it can be found.
