Each of the four characters in this game have their own prologue to their adventure. Cornell's has an accompanying intro scene while Reinhardt and Carrie retain their intros from Castlevania 64. Henry's intro is a simplified version of Reinhardt's and Carrie's. But first, the game begins with a scene of a woman running as a heavily-breathing presence (Ortega) chases her. This sets up the opening to Cornell's mission.

Cornell's Intro

After the young woman is captured, we learn what becomes of her. We follow Gilles De Rais, the castle's groundskeeper, as he makes his way from the castle's center entrance all the way up to the castle keep.

He arrives just in time for the start of the ceremony where the woman captured by Ortega is about to sacrificed by Death and Actrise.

As Dracula rises, he puts his fist to the air where it becomes enflamed. This act of will serves to destroy a local village and command his dark forces to begin terrorizing the countryside. The village falls and many are slain in their rampage.

Cornell arrives him from his travels to find his village burned to the ground, and several undead creatures still lurk about. After using his superhuman skills to destroy some skeletons, he becomes very concerned for his sister's safety, and he yells, "Ada!"

He runs to house, which has already begun to crumble. Inside, he finds the lone remnant of the village's burning in the form of his man-beast pendant, which he had entrusted with his sister. With it in hand, he knows where he has to go--to the following words:

As Cornell arrives at seaside, he stares down Castlevania, preparing for what he knows will be a battle for his sister's life.

Cornell, a.k.a. Blue Crescent Moon,

Through magic of the ancients, this man-beast warrior obtained a physical body of near immortality and a power that surpasses that of a wild beast.

The man-beasts, choosing to live harmoniously with humans, sealed away their enormous magical powers to prevent them from being used.

However, through severe ascetic training, Cornell acquired the art for releasing the sealed man-wolf power.

After a year of traveling and ascetic training, Cornell rushed back to his village only to find that evil spirits had set the village on fire, engulfing the village in a lotus flower of flames.

His only living relative, his sister Ada, was carried away by the evil spirits. Now he must save her.

Cornell used the man-wolf's acute sense of smell to track the scent of his sister's blood.

Reinhardt Schneider.

Carrie Fernandez.

We go back 8 years in time before the period in which these two young warriors risked their lives battling against the devil.

Now, the truth that has been shrouded in the gloom of darkness will be revealed.

Reinhardt, Carrie and Henry's Intro

The intros of Reinhardt and Carrie remain unchanged from Castlevania 64, with the same set prologue before their own predicaments are noted within the final two paragraphs; Henry also uses that set prologue followed by his own mission sequence. Below is the set intro followed by Carrie, Reinhardt and Henry's. Keep in mind: At the latter part of each intro, the hero character is seen walking onto a mountain cliff, sizing up Castlevania.
