Part 1: Gathering darkness.
"It is like the seed of mustard. Wen you lay it in the earth, it is smaller than any other seed in the world, but when it is sawn, it will grow and become larger than any other leafs of the garden and grow such large branches that the birds under the sky will nest in the shadows beneath them."
Mark: 4, 31-33.
Chapter 20: Discoloured wall.
Britza lower road, Warakiya. The 16th
of December 2098 A.D.
He breathed havily as he tried to lissen if any of his presuers where still
hunting him. He pressed his hand over his eyes, he was getting to old for
this. Then he heard them, the sound of klinking metal and cracking of bones
where impossible to misunderstand. He brought out the Blood of Christ and
painted a line on the floor. Then he put the vial back and started running
again. He must find the children. He had to warn them that an entire brigade
of the dark army, 60.000 none-humans, where coming to recruit and reform the
millits of the region. And that they where out in the forest. Out there right
now, only waiting to find and capture them.
Lighthouse, Warakiya. The 16th of December
2098 A.D.
Christian knelt in prayer at the center of the ground hall of the lighthouse.
How could it have come to this? When he had gone to get his friends there
had bean none enemies inside here. And now everything was changed. The stairs
where broken into sections with alcoves and niches in the very walls. The
flapping of wings pointed to that there was bats lurking upward. And the sound
of cracking bones made it clear even greater dangers was lurking beyond. "Don't
you think working around the lake would be better than this?" Noriko asked
him as she too gazed upward. "Sometimes girly," George calmly said. "a man
have to act like a man and do his duty." Christian agreed but he wouldn't
put Noriko or Iori in dangers they wheren't ready to face. "You might stay
down here if you want to." He suggested as he ended the prayer with the sign
of the cross and got to his feet. "Go down and see what is in the cellar."
George friendly advised. Noriko looked like she would protest, claiming she
was brave enough to go wherever he went, then she looked at Iori and nodded.
"Perhaps we find some useful artefacts down there." She smiled at him before
dragging Iori along. "A strange pair of children." George said as he drew
his guns and checked the bullets. "Don't you think?" He nodded as he cracked
the Vampire Killer and then they walked toward one of the stairs leading upward.
Lighthouse, Warakiya. The 16th of December
2098 A.D.
As they started climbing, George asked the lad if he was really sure of this.
"We have no choice." The boy answered. "Without a black lantern we might never
cross the fogy lake." He nodded and fired a round at the bats who was flying
at them. Christian snaped his whip at a ghost blocking their way and then
they stopped to prepare for a jump. "Watch the pillar of bones over there."
Christian said as the enemy he'd pointed at fired balls of flames at them.
He was just about to fire a shot at it when an arrow flew right past him and
fell as it hit the wall. The cracking of bones when the archer prepared a
new arrow broke its cover and he had to admit, for how many times he didn't
care to count anymore, as the lad threw his boomerang-cross and made the undead
beast burst into fire. But they didn't have to celebrate as the pillar of
bones continued to fire at them. He brought out his throwing-axe and threw
it at the pillar of bones and it shattered into pieces. The lowermost skull
continued however to fire at them. The axe returned to his grasp and then
another enemy started attacking them. A rock came flying through the air and
if Christian hadn't snapped at it, making it burst into fire, it would have
crushed his skull. "A rock armour." The boy shouted as another rock came flying
at them. As he took out the last skull of the pillar of bone as Christian
jumped across the abyss and faced the rock armour. He prepared to follow suit
as he felt a chilling presence and something wavering caught his eyes. A gold-plated
armour, draped and hooded in dark robes, appeared flouting in the air, its
sword drawn and at the ready. "Christian!" He shouted just as the cloaked
knight spread its arms and a bolt of black energy struck downward. The lad
rouse something silvery to the air and a shield of crosses rouse around him
and blocked out the darkness washing over him. Then he tossed the boomerang-cross
at the rock armour and the light-protected dark spirit vanished with a terrible
scream which made him mis the shot on the cloaked knight. As he reloaded his
gun, the cloaked knight again fired a beam of darkness at Christian. Then
that little boy lifted something to his lips and across the tower he heard
the sound of such beauty that he couldn't do anything but listen. "The Requelm
of Light." He thought he heard him say as something shining like whitish silver
appeared face to face with the cloaked knight. White wings of silvery feathers
spread out behind the armoured delicate shape of a female angel. The dark
spirit possessed the armour rouse its blade in defense as the angel rouse
an bow and arrow from the light around her and the arrow pierced its breast-plate
and the dark entity exploded. Then the angel disappeared and he just jumped,
his eyes still filled with what he'd seen. To his uttermost surprise, he landed
just smooth beside Christian. "Let's go." Christian said as they started walking
up the next flight of stairs. A scream of horrible sorrow and loss brought
him out of his reverie. Appearitions of a faint see-through light came drifting
right through the walls and came drifting at them. He ripped out his holy
water and tossed as many vials as he got his hands on and they burst into
fire before they could come any closer. "You are a true warier, and friend."
Christian said. "I hope I could only be more. I hope I might be a brother
in your war against Dracula." Christian clapped his arm. Then they came to
another shaft and they prepared to jump.
Town of Britza, Warakiya. The 16th
of December 2098 A.D.
Droid-commander lady Rage marched along the streets of the village as her
droids where rebuilding the village, her mechanical breathing sounding by
every step. Dimitri had bean an hard-handed bruit who was to eager to demolish
an enemy and his villages. This village was to become rebuild, that she would
see to, and hthe 3d brigade of the Dark Lord Dracula's dark army of the New
Order would recruit among the local tribes and graveyards to rebuild the Millits.
She knew that the droid-general had sent his five droid-brigades out to re-establish
law and order in the areas the Belmont had thrown into disorder by their crusade
against their Dark Lord. "My lady." She turned to face the two boar-knights
and the bone-gunner, a draped and armoured in crimson and gold and armed with
a rifle of the modern time, "we have found the priest's hideout." She smiled
behind his mask. "Good." She remarked. "Bring him to me." "My lady, he has
generated defensive barriers between him and us. We are unable to persue him
further." She nodded. "Dismissed." She commanded and they left him. "Nikuun,
Nijouji" His two royal guards and aids came to her side. "When the recruits
have arrived, bring me the best magicians and trackers among them." The two
red-fured were-foxes bowed. "As you wish my lady." They said almost in unison
and went to execute her will. "Victory armours!" The havy armours who was
her personal protectors snapped to attention. "Prepare my camp." They went
along, leaving merely four victory armours beside her. She continued walking
and they lined up around her.
Lighthouse, Warakiya. The 16th of December
2098 A.D.
The rock cracked into the wall and Christian dropped to the ground as George
cursed and fired a boom from his twin shotguns. The rock armour withdrew slightly
and then continued to toss its projectiles at them. He gathered his momentum
and, as George continued to shot from his weapons at the enemy, jumped across
the shaft. As he landed beside it and it drew its dagger to defend itself
as he slashed the whip at it. The light armour cracked to pices as he cracked
it again and again. Then, he felt his eyes grew wide, the blade rouse into
the air and darted toward him. He managed to rise a celestial barrier of crosses
around himself as it crashed into it. "What in the world was that?" George
asked as he landed beside him. "A bloody sword." He answered as he looked
around. Acording to the legend they newer attacked alone. Then they came.
First it just looked like some blades who dropped onto the steps before them,
then they rouse into the air and flew at them. "Pray for our victory." He
said as he brought out the throwing-cross and prepared his whip. George nodded
and brought out his holy water and throwin-axe. Just then the blades darted
at them and then withdrew as they tossed their weapons. Then they shot back
at them. He cracked the Vampire Killer and the blades he hit burst into fire.
George's holy water made other burst into flames too, but some of them did
managed to break through their defence and tore into their flesh. Had it not
bean for the armour protecting their weakest points they would have most likely
have perished. Christian took out the blades who sat in his leg and arm with
his crucifix and George sprinkled the remaining blades with holy water. He
nearly fell to his knees, the cold of the netherworld clawed at him like chilling
nails. "What… What in God's name… " George stammered at his side. And even
dough he didn't spoke his mind, he understood what he asked him. "They where
living soldiers once." He said. "But as they perished on the battlefield,
they saw they faught for nothing and such came to hate all life. They came
to serve the dark lord and now serve him without question." He slowly got
to his feet and brought out a small vial from his backpack. "This is the holy
Blood of Christ. Something the pope gave me if the powers of the other side
should weight havily upon me or my friends." He brought out two small silver-goblets
and dropped three drops into them. "This is the Blood of Christ." He said
with great respect as he slowly drank and then put it back. George slowly
drank, his eyes grew slightly larger. "It healed me." He gasped. "It is the
Blood of Christ." Christian smiled. "The Lord heals all who need it and cannot
be heeled. Let's go." George returned the goblet and they started walking
again.
Village of Britza, Warakiya. The 16th
of December 2098 A.D.
They stepped forward and then stopped at attention. "My lady," Nikuun said
after properly saluting her and the Dark Lord Dracula, he presented the human
dressed in crimson and gold silk-cloth, who elegantly bowed before her. "this
is father Jackob Wolfgang. He is most likely one of the spell-ccasters you
need." She got to her feet and noticed that father Wolfgang let his eyes cross
her still slender feminine mechanical limbs and thight-fitting body-armour.
She smiled behind her mask, no a human face with a three-sided breathing-aparature
right over her mouth and nose, and felt pleased by his looking on her. "What
is your skills or power?" She asked him as he snapped to attention. "I am
a shadowy priest of the Master's law." He said. She nodded, she should have
known. His shaved skull with the ring of light red hair, the evil star around
his neck and sacrificial-dagger at his side should have told her so. "Good.
Are you able to penetrate holy barriers?" The priest seemed to shiver slightly
in his thin red robes and shoulder-cape, but did however nodded. "Yes my lady.
If it is not to strong that is." She nodded. "Then when I have my task-force
is ready, you are to lead it." He bowed once more. "Yes my lady." The royal
guards lead him away and she returned to her seat. "My lady," She acknowledged
the blaster droid who entered her tent. "your command-tower are ready." She
smiled behind her mask and then followed the droid out. The worker-droids
was finished building the headquarter buildings and the trooper's quarters.
And they where now starting rebuilding the citizen's homes and shops. Human
traitors, slaves, salesmen and other humans would soon return to live here.
The farms outside the village had not bean touched by Dimitri's ravage and
the refuges would soon return to restart their lives. She would pick the new
city-commander and Millits captain personally. "Continue your operations."
She commanded the blaster droid and then summoned her squad of victory armours
and moved for the door of the command-tower.
Lighthouse, Warakiya. The 16th of December
2098 A.D.
"Do you smell that?" George finished reloading his pistols. Christian sniffed
the air and then crossed himself. "Am I going mad?" He said as his eyes grew
slightly larger. "Perfume. But that is impossible." Then he sniffed the air
again and he knew it was true. "Who might it be?" George asked as he looked
around. "I don't know." He said. "Vampires perhaps, or sirens. I… " Then he
broke off as someone started singing with a clear soft voice which made him
feel almost lazy. Then he grasped for his crucifix and stepped forward. On
the platform before him a naked brown-haired female sat and slowly song her
strange melody. "Who are you?" He slowly asked her in a defensive tone. "Help
me." She whispered. "Help us escape the tower." He noticed two other females
behind the first one. "If God will." He said as he slowly withdrew. This felt
wrong, absolutely wrong. "They're like… " George began and became cut short
as he became hit by sticky grey fluids and screamed in pain. He gasped as
he noticed burns erupt on his friend's skin. "Spider-women!" He shouted as
he cracked his whip forward. The first spider-woman's slashed its spines at
him and he managed to jump to the side and nearly cracked into the wall. A
shot from George's gun boomed and one of the spider-women screamed and he
saw one of them fall from the platform. He felt sick as he saw the spider-like
lower portions of the monster. He managed to get back on his feet as the first
spider-woman knocked the gun out of George's hand. He tossed the crystal and
the final spider-women exploded into flames. George picked up his gun and
then slowly picked up his crystal. "You must be careful about this thing."
He said as he came over to him. "It's like a bomb or something." He smiled.
"It's all we have which Leon himself held in his hand." He put back the crystal
and then they jumped the abyss and again continued upward. "Watch out!" That
was the only warning he got as another swarm of bloody swords came darting
toward them. "God help us!" He shouted as he brandished the Vampire Killer
and slashed it all around him and the blades became struck aside. But they
quickly regrouped and came at them once again. "George!" He shouted as he
again made them turn back. "Quickly! Use the holy water, now!" The former
salesman gave him a look, then he quickly tossed all his vials around him.
The blades burst into flames and that gave him time to bring out his boomerang-cross
and made the element of fire blaze around it before he tossed it at the remaining
bloody swords. When the blades vanished into nothingness, he looked around
the tower. "Spider-women coming in!" He shouted as he looked upward and saw
the attractive yet deadly enemies: He did manage to get away but one of them
landed directly on George and before he could help him, two more spider-women
landed before him. This was more the way he knew them. Helmeted worriers,
armoured with breast and shell-armour on their uppwer bodies and with spears
in their hands. He rouse a barrier of crosses right before one of the lances
whould have pierced his chest. But then they dashed at him and managed to
somehow land right before him just as the barrier vanished. They again tried
to pin him as he was the one to dash at them and glided right underneath their
six spider-like legs. That was when he saw the abyss open right before him.
He was just barly quick enough to summon the element of earth to create a
new platform so he could jump back on the real one. He cracked the whip at
the spider-women who used their lances to block his attacks. He grabed at
his holy water and made it rain with blessed rain all over them. The spider-women
burst into flames but had it not bean for George who grabbed him just before
he staggered backward, hi might have dropped to his death on the floor far
beyond. As it was he sunk to his knees and for a moment just sat there, breathing
heavily. "That," He said in a weak tone. "is an experience I will not feel
again." George smiled. "Tell me about it." Again he looked around. There was
no enemies near by now, and he could see that they where clouse to the top
of the tower. He return George's smile and again crossed himself. "You know,"
George said as they continued to climb upward. "I really look forward to leave
this side of the lake." He nodded understandingly. "I feel the same." Then
the flapping of wings cut him short and they prepared their weapons.
Village of Britza, Warakiya. The 16th
of December 2098 A.D.
She went back and forth along the lines of her special task-force, her breathing
sounding by each step. It consisted of bone-knights, dead worriers, crimson
guards, goat-bowmen, boar-snipers, crossbow-zombies and a darkside, and father
Wolfgang, her task-force commandant. They stood at attention and calmly and
expressionlessly awaited her command. "Hail deer Graf!" She saluted them.
"Hail deer Graf!" They saluted her in turn. "I have summoned you to track
down an enemy of the Dark Lord Dracula and his New Order. Of the Law of the
Master A priest of our enemy. Your task is to locate his hiding and bring
him before me." Father Wolfgang bowed. "As you command my lady. Hail deer
Graf!" They once again saluted her and she returned the salute and then they
turned and left her. She turned and went to find her recruiting officers.
If all went well she would send back her brigade as he had done the worker-droids
when they had finished their work. She looked forward to return to other work
at the castle. But until her order was not complete she would remain in this
territory. The three recruiting-officers stood at attention in the hologram-field
of the command-centre and awaited her arrival. "The recruitment is well on
schedule my lady." Sir Simon De Trepyarde, a local noble, standing to the
right, informed her. She nodded. This was no personal task she did not care
much as long as they executed the will of the Dark Lord Dracula. The other
two, lesser nobles like Sir Simon, reported the same status and after saluting
each other they ended their conversation. She would wait her for three more
days and if everything went according to plan she would return back to Castle
Dracula.
Lighthouse, Warakiya. The 16th of December

Christian did a side-dash so the swords of the cloaked knight who now fought
hand to hand with them, missed and George went forward. He smiled. He knew
the possessed armour had no face. But when George used the mace he'd found
somewhere smashed the blades to pieces, he could've sworn it became somewhat
desperate. Sure it had some magic power but to summon new swords when the
first two became destroyed was not one of them. He brought out his holy water
and sprinkled it on his throwing-cross and then finished it off. They bought
ducked as burning parts of metal flew all around them and then got some time
to rest and look around for more enemies. This gallery was the final leg to
cross before leaving the tower-shaft and they had so far disposed of three
cloaked knights who'd blocked their path. Just then George grasped him and
threw him to the floor as he fired a boom at a bone-archer in one of the alcoves
across the shaft. He wondered how the bony nightmares had managed to get there
but with all these stairways leading this or that was it shouldn't be that
much of a problem. The flapping of wings warned that another swarm of bats
was on its way. It looked like the bats liked it here at the top and hung
from the ceiling or underneath the platforms and attacked when they where
finished with or involved in battle. "Run!" He shouted and George immediately
did as he advised. They where to close now to be caught by the pesky mammals
just about now. He ran after George but had to wait as George had some problems
with opening the lid upward. Just then a few ghosts went just through the
doors in which the lighthouse-personel have had their apartements. "Don't
stop." George looked like he would help him, but the best help he could get
just now was if the former salesman could get that lid open. He tossed his
boomerang-cross at the bats and then made flames burn all around it and then
started whipping at the approaching ghosts, stopping only to catch the cross
on its return and then again throwing it. Just as the cross returned to him
the third or perhaps fourth time, George grasped his shoulder and haulsted
him through the open hatch and then jumped after him and crached the lid shut.
Then they bought sat there for a moment and just breathed havily. Then he
rouse to look around the chamber. The black lantern stood among many other
normal lantern but that wasn't the most important about the room. A giant
black crystal hung where the light should have bean and an oval black mirror
hung on the other side of the chamber. He picked up the lantern and then went
to the mirror. If this was what he hoped it it was it could really help them.
Teaking a deep breath he spoke to it. "Mirror, mirror on the wall, could you
please give us a map of Dracula's world?" The murky mirror turned and it was
like a dark wire-pool drew at him from inside the glass. Then a pale female
face appeared inside the mirror just as George drew him backward. "We shall
fulfil your wish." An eerie voice sounded. "But only if you defeat," The face
came out from the mirror and if was quickly followed by twelve other faces.
"us!" He knelt and did the sign of the cross. "Be the will of Christ, our
Lord." George gave him a grim humourless smile as he prepared the guns. He
noticed he was loaking it with silver-bullets and returned the smile. "Be
what may be." The former salesman said as he too did the sign of the cross.
Then they turned on the ghost or whatever it was.
Village of Britza, Warakiya. The 16th
of December 2098 A.D.
Father Wolfgang made a magical guest and the cobweb became torn to shreds
as blackish flames erupted around them. The darkside, who had once bean a
man, his friend, by the name Gilles Foster, but he tore it aside. He would
never go back to the weak controllable man he had once bean. He felt how his
hatred and anger toward the arch-patriarchs of the Pollen Orthodox church.
Christ had not bean able to save his family from the renegades plundering
and murderous brutality. But that had learned him an important lesson. Force
and power was all which impressed humanity. And if Christ had not the needed
power, he had gone to somebody who possessed it. Gilles had bean a friend
who had followed him on his path to power. But where he had learned to control
his power, Gilles had become owerpowered by it. "Have you found it?" He asked
the goat-bowman in his softest voice. The gest with the magic flames had just
bean a show of force to impress the simple minds of these creatures. "We have,
your dark holiness." The answer came from the group of crimson guards, different
coloured were-foxes armoured in Japanese armours painted in red and black
colours, who was all other than simple-minded. "Then show me the way." He
demanded. He knew what lady Rage had decreed and he was eager to face a man
who had stomack to serve that weak powerless god after all which have happened.
"Of course your dark holiness." They followed the crimson guards deeper into
the priest's house. Soon they came to a wall which opened when you pushed
on a secret mechanism. Bats and a gust of bad air came at them as they opened
it. "Stop!" HE commanded his force. "There is a holy barrier here." He grasped
inside his cloak and brought out a dark medallion and then knelt down into
a ceremonial pose. He prayed for dark power and started chanting in ancient
Latin and opened a wound in his palm with his ceremonial-knife and let blood
drip down in echange for the dark powers and then got to his knee again and
moved for them to carry on.
Lighthouse, Warakiya. The 16th of December
2098 A.D.
Christian screamed with horror as one of the faces breathed a blaze of electric
energy right into George's chest and knocked him into the wall. Blood dripped
from the back of his head and he didn't rouse again. There was no weapon who
seemed to really harm these faces. He pressed the envelope containing the
Host against the throwing-cross and prayed for the power of the crest of light
and then tossed the holy weapon at the faces. He made the cross split into
many and hit all the faces. The result was really impressive. The faces gathered
into one giant face and breathed a giant gust of wind at him. He screamed
as the window behind him shattered into pieces and some of them cut into him
as he became tossed outside into the sky. He summoned the crest of earth and
made platforms of earth and rock appear under him and such came back to the
tower just in time to crack the Vampire Killer into the giant female face.
"I know you now." He said as the giant face crumbled back into the many small
faces. "You are a weather ghost, a demon who control weather." Three of the
faces came flying at him and two of them breathed winds which made him shiver
with cold. He rouse the crucifix before him and strangely enough felt warmth
permeate his body. A brown-haired brown-eyed boy with a blazing sun-coloured
crest in his eyes stood behind him. He knew he wasn't there but he saw there,
he just knew it. The crucifix burned with orange flames as he stamped it on
the forehead of the weather ghost. The face screamed like the winds of Armageddon
as it vanished into the nothingness. "Fire," He said almost at a miss for
words. "that iw what might destroy you." Then he kissed the holy emblem and
put it back into his tunic and then turned on the other faces. He felt the
power of the crest of fire burn in his soul as he cracked the whip at the
second face who had come at him and then continued to whip the third to pieces.
Now there was only ten left but they where already mastering into the giant
one. But this time he was prepared. Or so he thought. He was not prepared
for the giant explosive charge of electric force the mirror ghost shot at
him and continued to fire at him when the first one missed. He rouse the shield
of crosses around him and then summoned the rain of holy water from the vial
he held into the air. He knew that without snow or water to refill them he
would have to trust the crystals he'd found inside the candles but he also
knew he had no choice. The holy rain had of course no other effect than to
bring the giant face down to the original ten smaller ones but that was all
he needed. He again prayed for the crest of fire to grant the Vampire Killer
more power and then went for the faces. But that was another problem since
the ghost could turn out the fire by their chilling breaths and such he had
to use the holy water again and again to turn them back. And when he tossed
his last vials there was still four faces left. If only George had bean awake
he could've helped him by using his own holy water, but as it was that was
no option. Then he remembered what St. Germain had told him. "You must learn
to master your powers. Not only the five in your spirit, but also the ones
who blessed you in your birth." "Who are they?" He remembered he had asked
the strange being. "Use the ocarina to summon water, ice or lightning by the
songs I will tell you." Now he brought his ocarina to his lips and started
playing. "The Minuet of the Water." came from the instrument without any problem.
He continued to play even dough a mermaid started singing and a naiad started
playing her harp. "Thank You Lord." He mumbled as the faces froze in motion.
The two totems of water vanished and he brought out the Vampire Killer. "Game
over weather ghost." He said as he slashed at them. Then the last face made
a bolt of electricity blast into him and he became shocked by its power. He
gasped and tried to stay awake. He summoned the power of earth and gathered
it around himself like a shroud and then cracked the whip at the final face.
Then he just fainted. The last thing he saw was the mirror cracked into pices
and a roll of paper fell down. Then he knew no more.
Lighthouse, Warakiya. The 16th of December
2098 A.D.
He slowly and painfully opened his eyes and looked around. That ghost was
gone and so was the mirror. But he felt no joy. Christian lay motionless on
the floor with signs of electric bursts on the floor. Where had he lay that
thing? Oh yes, there it was. He rolled out the contract he'd found in the
forest and a blue flash of light nearly blinded him. "What might I be of service
with sir?" A man dressed in red suit appeared before him as he tipped his
hat. "Some healing-poitions." He nearly barked as he gave him the money. "Of
course sir." The man tossed him the goods and then again vanished. He took
a few sips of the murky liquid to heal the bruises in the head and then helped
Christian to drink. "I forgot I had some of them myself." The boy said as
he got to his feet. "The way I see it, you can't get enough of these small
beauties." He remarked and Christian smiled. Then he went over and picked
up the paper laying on the floor. "She at least kept her promise." He said
as he looked over it. George nodded. It really was a complete read-out of
the land Dracula claimed as his. With the Old forest and Jova woodland as
the southern and western borders, Ravenberg in the east with the Witchvalley
and the Karpatians in the east and the Warakiyan Alps in the north. "I allways
wandered which wood we was in when we first got separated." Christian said.
"Jova woodland sounds correct as Britza once was the village of Jova Simon
Belmont spoke about. Then we have Uta lake in the hearth of the countryside
and Aliba and Ondol as the only other villages in this region of Warakiya."
The boy looked like he pondered something. "That is rather strange since my
ancestors say Dracula have bean out to conquer Veros and Berestov who lay
south of the Old forest." He shrugged. "I've seen some of Old Drac's agents
in bought those towns. And in Warakiya city for that matter." "Warakiya."
Christian mumbled. "That lay also westward. This map only goes as far as to
Winter's woodland and Warakiya city should be somewhere out there." Then he
shook his head and got to his feet. "Before we leave this place," Christian
said as he used a crystal to refill one of his vials. "tere is something I
have to do." "What's that?" George asked as the kid went over to the giant
black crystal hanging in the centre of the room. "To give the people of Warakiya
hope. Or so I pray." Then he simply poored the holy water onto the crystal.
He gasped as the blacknes vanished as it was ink or something and then the
crystal shone a clear gold. "I was as I hoped." Christian said. "This magical
lighthouse was built by summoning the element of spirit. Now, let's go and
see what Noriko have… " He stopped dead in his track as blood seemed to drip
from the floor and pooling into a crimson spot on the floor. "George," Christian
said as he cracked the whip at the blood. "find the elevator, quick." How
the boy knew it was an elevator in here he didn't even care to know as he
ran over and tapped into the controls. The doors opened and Christian ran
over and commanded the thing to bring them to the basement. "What the Hell
is going on?" He demanded to know as he reloaded his guns. "That thing up
there is a blood-born." Christian snapped. "It might copy anything it come
into physical contact with. It might look like all and everything since it
has no bomes in its body." "You mean it might even be a bomb or something
to get us with?" Christian shook his head. "It's a magical creature, not some
kind of machine or something. Bombs or guns and things like that needs chemicals
or complex machinery or moving-parts. It dosen't work that way at all. But
it might mimic anything of the same size as itself and even form solid shapes
of different objects." He gave the kid a worried look. "What do that means?
I don't get it." "Knives and stabbing weapons for example." Christian said
as he looked worried himself. "And as a river or blood it might get in all
and anywhere. I have bean told it was a secret weapon the darksides worked
on in 1844 but… " He became silent and then swung the whip right upward as
holes became opened in the ceiling and crimson bubbles became visible. The
bubbles burst into fire but their came new onces and without knowing better,
he started firing right upward. Taking out the bubbles as best he could. "What
was it Reinhardt said about these things?" Then the door opened and they came
out inside a giant lava-cave with cat-walks and bridges going this or that
way or really everywhere. "God have answered our prayers." Christian whispered
as he ran out. Not knowing what to say or do, George ran after the kid but
first saw to lock the door and shot the mechanism to pices. Then he quickly
followed the boy.

Father Wolfgang felt the shift in power just before the darkside felt it.
"The lighthouse is at work again." The shadowy priest whispered. He quickly
checked the map but was sure he was right. They was under the lighthouse,
or would soon be so. There was nothing else it might could be. "It must be
the Belmonts." The darkside hissed. Father Wolfgang nodded. "Then we might
return to lady Rage with a bonus." They continued walking.

Christian looked down to where the crimson remains of the blood-born slowly
melted into nothing. "Reinhardt was a wise man." He said. George smiled. "Sorry
I don't know him. But the way you talk about him, he surely sounds like it."
He couldn't help but laught and as he regained his composure he told him that
Reinhardt Schneider had bean dead since 1918. "Get down." George barked as
he again drew his gun. He could hear the foot-steps and quickly did as he
was told. From the steps leading up from the lower gallery, three individuals
extended. They where Noriko, Iori and, to his uttermost surprise, father Joshua.
Noriko gasped as he and George rouse and walked to greet them.

How in the world had they come down here? Noriko shook her head. They'd left
the pair just an hour ago and they'd used that hour to get down all the stairs
and down here. "I bless you my child." The old priest said as he did the blessing
motion. "Where did he come from?" Christian asked after joyfully having embrazed
her and kissed the hand of the father. "As we came down here." Iori said in
his usual cold tone. She shook her head. All since they'd met the old priest
Iori had sounded that way and stared at the man when he thought he didn't
noticed. "I managed to hide in the cellar of my house when the army arrived
here." Father Joshua said. "But when they started rebuilding the houses instead
for tearing them down, I managed to find another path to the bottom of the
well and from there, this hidden cave. I created some holy barriers between
me and them and so continued in hope of finding you." Then a worried look
appeared on the priest's face. "I overheard them talk about that you killed
Dimitri Blinov and they didn't sounded sorry for it. But some darkside said
that he would not believe it before he saw the corpse. He had seemingly noticed
how the vampire had faked his death before." Christian seemed like he was
ponding something in his mind. "If the army is still up there," He pointed
at the ceiling. "then I suggest we should see where this cave ends." He was
clearly the leader so they didn't argued. And beside, there was really no
other way to go. The lava boiled underneath them and man-sized flames erupted
each minute or so it looked. But it was to prefer for the could outside. If
they only came out somewhere near the lake, Christian could guide them over
since he'd found that black lantern he'd spoke so much about. She gathered
her power of dominance around her and prepared for battle.
(A.N: I hope you liked this chapter even dough it didn't have any real boss-battle or something in it. No worry, there will be a boss in the next chapter. But these chapters are also build-up chapters for the battle of Uta lake. Have a nice time.)
