Curse of Darkness Arsenal

Stealing

The Innocent Devils aren't the only ones with multiple special abilities: In addition to his superior knowledge of weaponry and his godlike ability to forge endless amounts of monsters, Hector is quite the thief. Curse of Darkness' next system is that of "Stealing," by which Hector can rob from the game's many enemies their most cherished goods, which include some extremely rare items that are necessities if he hopes to create the game's most potent weapons. To do so, Hector must first target a given enemy and then find the right time to strike; for the player, this means hitting the "O" button when the reticule targeting the enemy turns purple. This changing of color is triggered by any number of events, which entails goading the enemies into certain movements, knocking them into certain positions, or just pulling off some tricky maneuvers at the most opportune times. Listed here is each enemy, the item in its possession, and a short description on how to wrest away its treasure.

Chairs

Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance had an interesting but ultimately pointless side-quest in which the hero, Juste Belmont, collected furniture and used it to garnish a rather drab castle corridor. Provided for Hector is a similar process involving chairs. That is, Hector will find an array of chair types spread throughout Wallachia but may not realize their relevance. However, spurning what might become Hector's side-quest is his sudden arrival into a bizarre netherworld, an isolated "Chair Room" buried in the heart of Cordova Town. What the player will find is that the location of any chair type (on which Hector must sit if its finding is to be recorded) will result in its appearance in the Chair Room. If Hector can uncover all twenty-three chair types, appearing then in the Chair Room will be his reward: A twenty-fourth chair called "The Complete Chair." For his trouble, there's no real reward or, at the least, no reward that will have any positive effect on the gameplay to follow. For those interested, I present to you the means for finding each chair type.

Skills

Whereas in Lament of Innocence, a game sharing Curse of Darkness' engine, Leon Belmont learned the majority of his special skills in a natural progression, Hector will learn almost all of his early on through the collection of special artifacts; it's only in the case of releasing Innocent Devils where Hector won't have instant fulfillment. Hector uses many of the same skills showcased by Leon Belmont in his earlier campaign, so any Lament player should feel at home in Curse of Darkness' world. Listed here are all of Hector's skills and their properties (i.e., how to pull them off or what continued effect they have on gameplay) direct from the game's menu.
