No need to apologize for your English, Castle Lord; it is understandable. :]

Ah here is Guillaume, another fine collector on this page. You or retro will knock me off that top spot pretty quickly at this rate =)

I think my collection may top off at 200 items or so, unless I start getting more magazines and "filler" items. Ah well.

Hi Proto ! (sorry here I must say Goddamnbathead !)

Yeah you're right, I already can knock you off the top spot, but that's not the important. It's not a rush, to be the finest collector of Castlevania series in the world.

What is really important in my view, is that fans all around the world could gather, exchange and speak about this fantastic series, even if they are not crazy collectors like us !

Laughing Laughing

Every collection is impressive in my view, even if the collector is only 13 years old and possesses just 3 or 4 games. The simple fact that this guy loves the serie and decides to gather as much items as possible, that's impressive in my view.

To sum up, collecting is a matter of spirit, and we don't have to forget that every collection, even the biggest, always starts in collecting a single item.

I am really happy that you begin to collect other things than games, now.

Personnally, I really enjoy collecting as much Castlevania stuff as possible, like OST, posters, cards, and above EVEYTHING : magazines with dedicated covers to the Castlevania series. I am huge fan and collector of these articles.

Hello Guillaume!

@Topic

I finally managed to get a copy of the Game Boy Boku Dracula-kun. And with this game I say goodbye to the collecting, for now. It has more and more become an addiction and the prices of some stuff are simply ridiculous - And I have very little money. I love the games, but somehow I'm losing interest in them too.
Well I havent checked eBay and Yahoo now for some weeks now, so it is all your stuff out there ^^
Maybe if I have some more money in the future I will continue.

Yes Retro I understand.

What you said is true : prices of stuff incredibly increased since one year. We can see nowadays ridiculous prices, but that's the law of market, I guess.

Many buyers for only a few items. So expensive prices.

Congratulations for your Boku Dracula Kun, I do possess 3 Japanese Kid Dracula on GB, and this is a very difficult game to get.

Thanks for saying that, Ferret, but I still find my English not good. But if you can understand me, this is the most important even if I make mistakes.

Retro :
I think to progressively retire from collecting, me too. I have now other priorities, and first I must spare money to buy a house with my girlfriend. Oh my...

I love the "progressively".

Rolling Eyes

Man, you have just bought around ten Castlevania items on eBay in less than a week!

Surprised

WTF! That's what I buy more or less in four months! Why don't you have a Kit Kat?

Sorry, Lux, but I don't understand your last sentence.

Question Question Question

If you can't buy too many Castlevania articles, it's not my fault, man.

(but we already talked about that, I don't want to repete myself) Confused Confused

About my (future) retirement from collecting :
I understand what you said about my purchases ; yeah it's true, in this context it is quite funny...

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

I will explain you another place another time how I have been able to do these boughts

By the way, did you saw these wonderful VHS on Yahoo ? Too bad they are so expensive, it's too frustrating...

A small update, a couple of those doujin/magazines might be redundant..

Dracula X: NITM framed phone cards promo item
Nintendo Power: Castlevania 2 issue
Dracula X: Chi No Rondo japanese guidebook
Simon pixel art figure from 1007 San Diego Comic Con
Konami Game Freaks cassete album (with tracks from Akumajo Dracula Arcade/Haunted Castle)
Akumajo Dracula music book
Beep Magazine (Castlevania Chronicles cover)
1997 NITM Manga/cosplay doujin

On another note, the new Castlevania cell phone game, Order of Shadows does not look very good. I played the demo, I guess the controls are faithful enough but the whole package seems third rate. Im just surprised Iga put his stamp of approval on this one at all.

I'll have an update in a few weeks, I'm waiting on some stuff from Japan to arrive. =)

Should be fairly hefty compared to my usual updates.

Well I didn't get the commercial release of the game today, but I did get a pre-order bonus for it locally.

Kind of cool really, I was buying Capcom Classics Remixed on PSP at Gamestop and inquired about DXC offhand, and the preorder bonus being limited (I didnt preorder). I got into a little conversation about it and the Gamestop employee gave me his new CV2 Simon for signing up for the Gamestop card. (I'm in there often enough)

Pretty cool of him to do, considering he gets no kickback from corporate (commission) for signing people up anyway. (Another gamestop employee confirmed this for me today)

+1 positive Gamestop stories.

Page updated: http://www.vgmuseum.com/mrp/multi/collector-protogem.htm

And because Windows Vista was feeling generous today, I only had to go through the painful process of giving myself permission to change/move/update files three times (not to mention the fun of having to unmark all as read-only)!

Also, for whatever reason, the HTML files in my Dreamweaver display are up to date, yet those in my actual Windows folder are somehow older versions as copied over months ago. "If both are showing files from the same damn location, then how can it be both at the same time?" you ask. I don't know! Thanks, Microsoft!

Huh, thats odd. I wonder if Vista's shadow copy feature is causing that issue.

Overall Vista is pretty horrid.. I ran it for 6 months on my work laptop and it was just a nightmare.

Amongst other things over the last month or two, I won this cool blue disk variant of Akumajo Dracula FDS on Yahoo Japan:

I payed more than I wanted too (nothing outrageous thankfully) but it was worth it for a cool game related item. I'll see about making scans of this and some other stuff for the site when it comes.

Man, these boards are really dead lately.

http://inverteddungeon.com/redrum/Images/proto/

I rephotoed my entire collection, should be on the site soon. The page was a mess with 23 photos of random crap, good to get it organized a bit.

In your "Items 03" link, what's on the video tape? I can read that it says Playstation and Konami.

It's a product tape from winter 1996 sent by Konami to Japanese store owners showcasing current and upcoming products. It contains several NITM/SOTN PSX commercials that have never been seen on TV or uploaded to the internet, kinda neat.

There's no way to upload to the site.

Instead, simply send your collection photos (trying to keep the total picture count low) to me, the site owner, with a list of the items shown.

That's MrPerfectn@aol.com. More details here or here.

My collection is quite...Pitiful
I got all the GBA metroidvanias, including a very rare Castlevania Circle of the Moon with Brazilian (Portuguese) box and manual for $50 (yup, ALL 3), used but in perfect state (it would be, roughly, US$25), a Alucard action figure (not rare), all the DS ones and the day before Christmas arrived by mail my original copy of SotN, black label, that I found on Brazilian market (guess what, I'm Brazilian). Also got a couple really old gaming magazines featuring CV.
