I'm really into grim, gritty action movies/psychological thrillers and would be most grateful if you guys could offer suggestions of movies I might like.

Some of the movies that fit this description that I've thoroughly enjoyed are Albino Alligator, The Brave One, Collateral, The Contract, A History of Violence, Se7en, V for Vendetta, and The Watcher. Movies that go over the edge and do NOT fit this description are Sin City and American Psycho.

Movies I'm thinking about looking into are 24 Hours in London, Crime Spree, Fight Club, Stiletto, and Suicide Kings. But I'm hoping you guys can help me add to that list!

Please no spoilers in this thread!

Yeah, I didn't care much for Sin City either.

I'm pretty bad at this, but if you haven't seen Gattaca I would suggest seeing it once.

Is that the one about genetic engineering or whatever? Saw it. It's more sci-fi, but it is pretty dark, so good try! Not a bad movie, definitely something my mom's probably seen and liked (she loves sci-fi).

Here's a growing list of movies that meet this description. I call them "Grit Hits"

Maybe I should try Michael Clayton, since that was done by the same director as the Bourne trilogy. Though the Bourne trilogy was more of a spy film, I like it because of the gritty action sequences and the psychological drama what with Bourne's identity crisis. Gritty action, dark atmosphere, and psychological drama... Makes for great movies and great video games!

Yes, that was Gattaca. The trailer for that movie was terrible. It really makes the movie look worse off than it is.

It was pretty amusing to see Phillip from Shaun of the Dead play the lord of the vampires in Underworld.

That trailer?

I haven't seen Underworld since it came out, but I did just order it a few days ago, having remembered liking it.

So I saw Fight Club yesterday. Let's just say it didn't make the Grit Hits list...

I'm convinced The Pursuit of Happiness is made for people who hate Will Smith.

Life kicked the poor guy in the balls for 2 hours straight.
