I want to submit an ending, what should I do?

      - First you need to take snapshots of the last boss or last bosses (if there's more than one) and its different phases, the full complete ending and credits. In other words, the last boss and everything after the last boss is defeated and before the game restarts. Zip it up and email it to ReyVGM with the name of the game, system it's for and your contributor name.

What image file format should I use?

      - The images need to be in the .PNG format, they can also be .BMP if the images were originally produced in that format. Do not try to convert the images yourself or you might downgrade their original quality in the process.

Should I zip the files?

      - Yes, all contributions should be zipped.

How many screenshots do you want?

      - I just need screenshots of the last boss or bosses, the ending with all the conversations and animations, the complete credits screen and everything else that comes after it, which is generally a 'The End', 'Game Over', 'Congratulations' or 'Score' screen. If you are in doubt, take snapshots of everything and I'll select the shots before posting it.

What if a game has multiple endings?

      - The correct thing to do is to send all the multiple endings and their variations (if it has any). I have a very strict rule of not posting incomplete endings. If you're not sure the game has multiple endings you can always go to GameFAQs or Google and search for information.

How should I name them?

      - Do not send images named: ending.gif, credits.gif, the end.gif, etc. Instead number them like endingofgame001.gif, endingofgame002.gif, etc. as an example. Since I didn't play the game, I won't automatically know what's going on in the ending ;)
If a game has multiple endings or variations, you are able to name the images as you see fit; but always keep them numbered to maintain the sequence of the ending. There is an exception to this whole naming rule, I require that the last bosses screenshots be named different (i.e. lastboss1.png, lastboss2.png, etc.) to be able to identify what images are from the last fight.

What if a game has spoken dialogue in the ending, should I send a sound file?

      - It can be a tad difficult sending endings with spoken dialogue because I require them to have a whole transcript of the spoken dialogue, along with the name (or names) of the characters that spoke and in what image it was said. It's not really complicated, just tedious to write it all down. You can send a sound file too, but you still need to tell me the names of the ones speaking and in what part of the images the dialogue goes.

What about racing/puzzle/sports, etc. games?

      - Since most of these types of games don't feature a last boss, all you need to do is take the screen captures right before you complete the last puzzle, finish a race or beat the last team.

About Genesis screenshots

      - If you use Gens to take snapshots of Genesis endings, do NOT take the screens while in full screen mode or else they will come out in full screen too. I have no way of resizing or fixing an image in that resolution. Please set the Render to normal and take the screenshots that way.

Anything else I should know?

      - Always try to play in the hardest difficulty level because it generally nets you the best ending. If the game has more than one ending, try to get them all.
      - If you have never played the game before, do a little gamefaqs research to find out if the game has more than one ending or a variation of it.
      - The ending begins from the second the last boss is defeated.

Why don't you have endings for *insert game here*?

      - Patience, I'm pretty busy with real life and I don't have time to post each and every ending... yet.

Why won't you accept endings in Japanese?

-Mainly because most of the world's population doesn't understand Japanese. English ends up being the best choice due to the fact that anyone that plays games, at the very least, reads English no matter what country they come from.

But I and my otaku friends understand Japanese!

      - Congratulations, you managed to learn a very hard language. That doesn't change the fact that most still can't understand it. It's best to wait until a translation group translates such game and then the ending can be posted.

Do you take endings from unlicensed/ hacked / unofficial / homebrew / beta games?

      - No, sorry. I only post endings from games officially released to the public. There are some very good homebrew and beta games such as Super Demo World and Star Fox 2, but the rest is just plain garbage of terrible hacks and stupid pirate games. This is something that could change in the future, but right now my plate is full with just the licensed stuff.

Why won't you accept story screenshots before the last boss? They're important!

      - Indeed they are, but those images go into the Gamepics section.

Why won't you take Playstation or Playstation 2 endings?

      - Doing Playstation endings is a pain in the ass with all those FMV and spoken dialogue endings, it is very time consuming and I don't trust others with that task. I now prefer to concentrate on older systems first and then worry about the more advance consoles from the Playstation era and up.

Why don't you have Nintendo 64/Dreamcast/Xbox360, etc. endings?

      - One of the reasons is explained above in the Playstation question. The other reason is because there are no emulators or no good emulators for those systems that correctly display the 3D graphics as the real system would. I'm not interested in posting Nintendo 64 endings with sharp polygon models and blurry text.
Also, using capture cards to capture images directly from the console is a no-no when you consider that capture cards take snapshots of what's showing on the screen and not directly from the console's video card, thus, resulting in blurry and inadequate images.

I sent an ending and it wasn't posted, what happened?

      - Give me time, I am generally busy and I don't have time to post everything that gets sent to me. I still have endings contributed a year ago that I haven't posted.
Other reasons might be that you sent me an incomplete ending or low quality screenshots. Endings from hacks, prototype, unofficial, homebrew and pirate games are out of the question too.

What if I see an incomplete ending?

      - If you see an incomplete ending you can send me the missing images and you'll get credit for the ending.

Screenshots suck, why don't you put ending videos?

      - Yes, videos would be ideal, but there are other issues to consider such as: bandwidth and time. I doubt the server could handle the load of 2000 people downloading 50 meg videos each day. The time it takes to encode each video is something that prevents myself and contributors from making decent ending videos. Not to mention the dozens of video codecs out there that play for some people and not for others.
YouTube is a nice alternative, but the video quality is terrible; plus I don't trust having videos on a server I have no control over.
Emulator videos are out of the question since each person would need to have a copy of the emulator and the specific ROM file to play it. Another important thing is that you can't put ending variations in videos unless you know how to use video editing programs, which I'm pretty sure most people don't.
The bottom line is, having ending screenshots is the simplest, fastest and most reliable way of putting a massive endings collection online.

Can I link to your images on my website?

      - No you cannot. The server administrators have disabled off-site image linking, you can however link to the pages themselves.

Can I use your endings on my website?

      - Yes you can use the endings, as long as you give credit to the website where you found them.
